Bad image error whenever trying to open applications.

Hi guys, Im new here.
My computer recently did a scan on startup (something to do with a disk drive being dirty) and now I get an error saying Bad Image whenever I try to open a program (Chrome, iTunes etc). The error says "C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\wow64cpu.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. Try installing the program again using the original installation media or contact your system administrator or the software vendor for support." I am currently running internet explorer 64 bit as no other browsers work anymore. I have tried using system file checker multiple times but it tells me it cannot repair the error. System Restore did not work either.
Please help!
