What is a .bk file - I know that this is not a MS Word forum

Dear Forum,

What is a .bk file and how do open the document.

Mine contains 680 KB so there is data in it.

I recently uninstalled the component of a Memeo back up program - would have that created this file

Thank you.

If you can not assist - that is alright

a .Bk is a back up file, it was probably created by your back up program before it was removed, the reason it seems to have a blank icon is again likely because you don't have the back up program there to access that particular file type

I found the association file and opened it with the Word file and that seemed to open the file. I do not know how I figured that out or how it got created.

Thank you for assisting me in a non Windows 7 related question.

I know nothing about computers
