Black Screen after Windows 7 Load.

Hello there this issue happened only once and pc is fine atm just wonder could have caused that.
well, i did bootup my Pc just like the other days but for some reason after windows 7 loading screen, i got a black screen
without messages or mouse cursor , i could normaly hear the sound from the speakers from windows 7 but couldn't see anything, did restart and everything was fine, also just to be sure did like another 100 restarts and PC is fine. i think was just a Display Driver Bug or failure not sure. the only message that i found at event viewer was :

Not Sure either seems like a very small bug of the 13.1 Version ATI Display Driver.

yap seems it's from ATI driver bug or something... checked better at event viewer found that, same error code 1001. :

The VIDEO_TDR_ ERROR bug check has a value of 0x00000116. This indicates that an attempt to reset the display driver and recover from a timeout failed.

Run all Important and Optional Windows Updates after enabling Automatically deliver drivers via Windows Update (Step 3).

Then check the PC's Support Downloads webpage for a newer Display driver to try.

Since you're already reading the logs, here are other useful Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7. Establishing a Clean Boot will help assure the display bloatware is not running with Windows.

If you haven't already I'd also Clean Up Factory Bloatware or get the superior Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7. I'm assuming with Premium you have a branded PC but if not the same steps will assure a perfect install.

The Problem is from ATI Driver since this happened once since installed the new driver 13.1 , like said that happened only once (The Black screen) pc works fine, did scan also just to be sure theres no virus, if this happens again will just wait for 13.2, since theres already a new beta driver or just install my previous version since i have it on a CD.

Unless you use special settings I would not use the full driver software package, only the driver itself. This can solve problems like this.

Also make sure nothing is starting with Win7 except your AV by establishing a Clean Boot from the steps I gave you above which will help you maintain a better performing install, as we have thousands of others here.

My assumption is that you have an HP Laptop - couldn't tell from what you shared. If so...listen carefully:

HP Laptops run very hot. The video card is seated on the motherboard just under the JK&L on the keyboard.
Because of the heat, the glue gets...less...sticky. You can read about this on other boards to confirm that I am not joking. (I personally was floored when I had this problem and read it the first time).

What you need to do it shut down the laptop; unplug; (and take out the battery).
Open and set the laptop down on a flat surface; place the lower part of your palm directly on the keys JK&L and with significant force press down very hard and hold for about 30 seconds (it doesn't matter if your hand pushes down more than JK&L).

This "re-seats" the card and you can now plug all back in and restart - voila! You'll have video again. It's a flaw in the design and you may want to start prepping for another computer - it'll eventually become unseated again and again - until the glue won't hold for long at all.
