when i edit the "send to" folder in my user profile the shortcuts are not listed. i have file menu tools installed and under the send to section they don't show up either. i searched google for the location of the "send to" folder in the registry but, google is not my friend . i also searched here before posting but...
    im using se7enx64 ent.

thanks to anyone who can help me pull my head out,

Oh, this is a good one. I didn't know about this until I found it just now:

Hidden Registry Settings for the "Send To" Menu in Windows 7 - The Winhelponline Blog

Scroll down to, or use Ctrl+F to find, the NoDrivesInSendToMenu section.

    yessirreebob,
twocables i don't see why this can't be the solution. i'm glad you found it because i was feeling as useful as a stump. i may be experiencing premature marking (as solved) but it feels good.

    thanks to twocables,

remind self to b/mark that site.
the data didn't exist so i created and gave it a value of "1" and then clicked my heels together 3 times and ...
i probably should have read all the pertinent information first but i figured why start doing the right thing now. this is the first time they have shown up in that menu, oh well.
seems to be some good stuff on that site, thanks for the heads up. now i don't feel like i have to leave my helmet on the whole time i'm on the bus.

    twocables, thank you again,
    marked as solved and confirmed
