Can't boot. Is there anything else I can try?

    Yeah. It's marked active. I've run the 3 startup repairs many times. If I run it from the CD, it tells me that it cannot find any problems. If I run it from the hard drives, it tells me it cannot repair the problem. Either way, after doing that, when I try to boot it from the drives startup repair runs and tells me it cannot fix the problem.

    I've decided that even if the system is salvageable, it's no longer worth the effort. I've spent several days (though not working on it full-time) trying to recover this system. Since I've been able to save the date, the system could have been almost reloaded by now. I'm not going to waste any more time trying to fix it, since there's no guarantee that it will ever run right again. If I do a clean install, then I know it will run right (at least initially).

    If you'll stick with the same tools and methods given in Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 you'll get and keep a perfect Win7 install, for as long as you do.
