you could try running a sfc scan as you say it is related to minimizing a window.

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

I have seen it before being a left over from a file/folder that was selected or highlighted. I don't know how to prevent it, but to dismiss it, right click any empty place on the Desktop and click Refresh, should get rid of it.

you could try using process explorer. one of its features is a target program that allows you to highlight any window and show its running properties. don't know if it will pick up box, but worth a shot I guess... Process Explorer

That is a handy tool.
Process Explorer is more helpful for problem solving, than Task Manager.

Strange "ghost" appearance of Chrome Plugin Logo
To whoever may solve this small problem: Since a few weeks, a gray rectangle with the Chrome Plugin Logo appears briefly whenever I refresh a Chrome browser page. Better than any description, please see the attachment. I can find no reason for this. In itself I can live with it, but would rather...

WLAN/WiMAX ghost icon on desktop won't go away!!!
I have a ghost icon of WLAN and WiMAX in the left corner of the desktop, it is unresponsive and stays above all other windows/programs. It is a very recent issue. I am guessing this happened due to windows updates, since others online (the few others I could find) said they thought that it was...
