    aye no shutdown again;( it does shutdown if I disable internet before shutdown. Back to the virus scans again tomorrow!

    Ok mate one to try is this How to remove malware belonging to the family Rootkit.Win32.TDSS (aka Tidserv, TDSServ, Alureon)?

    and there are more if we need to go there.

    Seems like something is wanting to keep you hooked up to the net for whatever reason.

    Now just as a bit of insurance how about making a thorough back up of all your data - just in case it needs a reinstall.

    PS Just as an after thought it might be worth doing this SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

    found 6 unsigned programs, most i use regularly. and one driver : ITDriver. copyed all to quarintine. doing sfc scannow

    The scannow PC ideally should be run three times and for another rootkit scan use this one
