What is the cause of this corruption in the taskbar?

Hi, i have had this problem for a couple of days till now, when i pass the mouse over the small windows that appear from the running programs in the taskbar, it gets like bars and lines over these windows.
I noticed that the search engine is having the same problem when i type in it (i use google Chrome). The desktop gadgets are also corrupted the same way.
What can i do to fix it?
I use a Toshiba Satellite laptop.

You say this started a couple of days ago? Simple things first. Have you tried a system restore to a point before this started? What steps , if any, have you tried to fix this?

I would start with a malware/Virus scan for sure. Also a sfc/scannow wouldn't hurt. Or you could try rebuilding your icon cache, though I think its unrelated. (click on the links below for tutorials on how to do these)

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

    Icon Cache - Rebuild

    Also, welcome to the forums:)

    Thanks for your welcoming.
I restarted my laptop after finishing some windows updates and all the problem is gone!
Also the system scan just finished (Kaspersky antivirus), it detected 3 malicious tools and i deleted them!
I really can't tell if these malwares were causing all the corruption. I just hope it won't happen again.
    Thank you for your time.
