Admin rights have been disabled and my computer is now locked down

    Hello!
Some weeks ago a friend of mine pointed out that he couldn't read the properties of My Computer which seemed odd. (If I right click on My Computer and select properties, nothing happens)
The problem has extended to not being able to remove certain programs and not being able to even access file sharing options let alone being able to change them at all no matter how I try to access it.

I Have run a multitude of registry fixing programs and malware/spyware programs and nothing seems to have gotten to the bottom of the issue.

I am stuck, my only option thus far seems to be to re-install Win7 and I am not too keen on losing certain apps and data associated with them. Does anyone have a clue as to what the problem may be?

Because you have already done all those registry things this might be what you are looking for.

    Repair Install

Have you tried creating another admin account, moving everything there and deleting the problem one? See if that will work. You may want to try this also. Built-in Administrator Account - Enable or Disable

Hope you haven't destroyed your registry with those "fixes". I would try what essenbe suggested first (its easier and quicker). Have you tried a sfc/scannow to find/repair corrupt system files? Heres a link to a tutorial on how to do that :SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker
I'm afraid though that a repair install as suggested may be in your future as whatever you used to "fix" your registry probably broke it instead.

Thank you very much for the feed back and suggestions. I am on my honeymoon for a week and will deal with this when I get back. :)
