Only file visible on C: drive is something called END

I'm new to the forum and I seem to have a few issues with my laptop and hope someone can help me out. I have a Pavilion g7 500gb hard drive 8gb ram running Win 7 home prem 64 bit.

Everything seemed to be working fine and then it started not seeing Blu ray discs... then not seeing DVD's... NOTE: if I put a blank DVD or Software Disc or Music CD in it loads and reads them. When I put a movie dvd in it starts to spin clicks a few times... clicks some more and more but never seems to spin up.

Then when I would boot it up on start up it would go to a black screen for like 8 - 10 minutes before pulling the desktop up then a few more minutes for the icons to appear. Then a window asking to run svchost.exe???

I tried to download and re-install Cyber DVD but when I do it says previous version needs to be un-installed would you like to un-install... Yes... then it cycles through the start up to un-install a icon appears on the task bar... then stops and does it again and again and again.

When I go to control panel and look in programs it's not there. Then when I clicked on my C: drive the only file I now see is a File called END its 9k (format File) and never seen it before and could see all the other files.

    Anyone have any ideas???
