Back from Windows 8 and a huge sigh of relief

I did the inexpensive upgrade thing a couple of months ago and regretted it from the beginning but there I was with only a fresh install to get back to Windows 7.

I lived with it and told myself every day "this isn't so bad." But it was 'so bad.' So when I found massive corruption in my file system I bit the bullet, reformatted and install a fresh copy of Windows 7 Professional.

I guess it's a good thing to try something new every now and then but it's nice to come back home.

Welcome back to the best OS ever, and one of the greatest achievements in tech history.

Win7 sales are still booming and it is wildly popular with the public.

Business is now migrating en masse from XP and they are only interested in Win7.

We are hopeful that Windows 9 or Windows Blue will carry on the tradition of Win7 with a perfect intuitive Desktop experience for those who rely on Windows to be productive. Until then Win7 shows no signs of age whatsoever.

I personally didn't like it either (did the cheap upgrade, too) but then I discovered Start8 (from StarDock) and have been using it since exclusively in Desktop mode -- which is very similar to Win7.

I've had no such corruption in my experience -- you should run some filesystem checks now that you're back in Win7 to ensure that the filesystem is OK.

I agree that it's good to be back in Win7 -- even though I do have Win8 running, I find I use Win7 about 90% of the time.
