Keeps unmarking open windows??

Hi

I have a problem with 7 x86 64-bit, it keeps unmarking every window i'm in. When i'm writing this message I have to constantly press with the mouse, to mark the window again to continue writing. And its all programs, MSN, explorer, etc. and games are minimizing themselves. And its really getting on my nerves.

Anyone have a solution for this problem?

Juhler, Welcome to the Seven Forums

To help you we first need your system specs. You can either go back to "CP" and fill in your specs which will appear in the lower left of your post screen any time you do a post for help or just to chat/joke with other members. Or, just for now list everything you can on this post. Thank you.

Marking - unmarking.

Are you saying that the active windows loses focus?

Regardless, one challenge we face here is your outdated release. It is possible that the underlying cause has been corrected in the RTM, or an interim build.

A simple test to ID the culprit -

When focus jumps off the active window, immediately press ALT+F4. Which app closes? You may wish to have Task Manager (or equivelant) open to catch this.

Yeah it loses focus, and nothing happens when pressing ALT-F4, all though it sometimes gains focus again after say 10 sec.

Where can i update my release?

TechNet will give you a 90-day version of Enterprise. Any other source is up to you to find.

Something is stealing the focus. Odd that you say sometimes it regains focus. First problem - sometimes. Second problem - what would give the focus back to a certain window?

Karen's PowerToys (sic) has a window revealer. In lieu of an upgrade, perhaps we can install the toy and see where the focus is going.

Another tool is Window Watcher. I don't have links for you.

Any gurus know how to ID what has focus at a given time?

Have you tried rebooting? It sounds like perhaps a reboot might fix this problem.
