Windows 7: windows explorer view settings

Ok. Back to the view thing then. In the Win7 machine I'm on right now whatever I set the view to in any folder, it sets the entire library to that. There's no more 'customize this folder' in any of the view menus, which there seems to be at least 4 of. This is defninitely not as simple and easy as XP was. In that you just selected a folder and in the bar menu
'view' you could select customize this folder and it would as you if you wanted to apply this setting to sub folders. Nice and simple and anyone could easily find it. This is a royal PITA. Again, what I need is likely buried here somewhere.

The main thing you need to remember is that folder views and templates are handled a little differently in "libraries" versus "folders". Once you get that down, it's not so bad.

Again: when I select a folder and select view on the menu bar I do NOT get a customize folder option. It's not there an never has been on this machine.

You're right. It is easy. Two long years of screaming at this machine and constantly changing the view every time I open a folder have come to an end and I am very grateful to you. Thank you very very much. I think this issue is solved.

You're most welcome.

It's always those small differences between "libraries" and "folders" that can sometimes confuse folks.
