What programs show launched programs on bootup?

I see W7 Home Premium still has msconfig to tell you what programs are launching on bootup, but was wondering if this OS has a more thorough program? Keep getting a spyware program launching and would like to disable that. Thanks.

The only program within Windows 7 is msconfig to disable startup programs..
you could get other 3rd party programs to disable startup...

If you keep getting spyware (program) do you have Anti-virus/spyware and firewall protection on your computer??

and What Spyware program is launching??

The startup folder usually has most of them.

How do you know that it is spyware?

Yes, Spy Hunter kept auto launching on bootup. Didn't realize W7 has a built in spyware program already. Is it any good?

Best thing to do is download, install and run malwarebytes and Spybot S&D

    Malwarebytes.org

    The home of Spybot-S&D!

Post back and let us know what they report - they should clear things but there are other manual options if there are still problems

windows defender might be worth looking at.

amongst other things, it lets you view the list of programs running at Windows startup. you can also disable or permanently remove unneeded entries.

just start typing 'windows defender' in the start-menu search box to run it...

It's a given program for me to have installed on every system of mine, but CCleaner can show and disable startup items. They also aren't usually in the Start Up folder anymore, especially malware. That's why a app designed for this purpose works best.

If you are looking to check what exactly is being loaded without your knowledge thers is nothing better IMO than Autoruns

    Autoruns for Windows

It can look a little complex on first sight but that is because it scans all the places that items may be started for all users

I concur. Not the prettiest, but the most thorough. Very handy for isolating more than just boot time autoruns.

Jv16 PowerTools can show you all the files that run during the boot process. .exe's and .dll's etc...
