    Regedit help

I am trying to delete a registry sub-key and its not complying. I have full control, I am the owner and I am running regedit as an administrator on an admin profile. However, when ever I try to delete it I get an error.

"Could not delete key <key name>: an error occurred while deleting"

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Try taking ownership of that key before you try to delete it .

Right click on the key choose properties . Click on the Advanced button then Click the Owner tab on the Advanced Security settings dialog box. Select the owner name in the Change owner to list box. If you want to take ownership of all the subcontainers and objects, select the Replace owner on subcontainers and objects check box. Click apply and OK
Back in Permissions dialog box. Select the desired user name from the Group or user names list and select the check box under the Allow column for the Full Control row. Click OK.
