Can't open cmd through "open command window here"

I have searched and do everything on fixing the registry, but still I can't open the CMD by right click in a folder and choose "open command window here."
The windows says: "THis file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Please install or if one is installed already..."
    Please help me.
    THanks

Hello opticaldh, and welcome to Seven Forums.

You might see if using step 1 in the tutorial below may be able to help fix this by restoring it's default registry entries.
If not, then download and merge the .reg file for the listed .exe option may be able to. It will restore the default associations for .exe files.
Afterwards, if you like, the tutorial can have you be able to use "Open command window here" without having to press Shift first.
    Hope this helps, :)

Hold the shift key down while right clicking on a folder or drive.
