[SOLVED] Win 7 Questions

Okay so before i installed Winodws 7 RC i had Windows XP and Windows Vista duel booting. But i had no boot manager, i had to push f8 during the first boot up screen to pick which hard drive to boot from, first being vista, second being xp.

I installd 7 onto the Vista partition. But when i go to boot my pc still thinks its going into vista and it gets some error saying theres no windows files etc. So when i boot from the second hard drive it goes into Windows 7 Easily. BUT there is no boot manager letting me go into XP. I cannot acces XP AT ALL. All the files are still there though, and under 7 my main harddrive is D. So im guessing XP is still there its just not booting up from it.

Could someone tell me if this is true?

IMPORTANT: The RC will expire on June 1, 2010. Starting on March 1, 2010, your PC will begin shutting down every two hours. Windows will notify you two weeks before the bi-hourly shutdowns start. To avoid interruption, you'll need to rebuild your test machine using a valid version of Windows before the software expires. You'll need to rebuild your test PC to replace the OS and reinstall all your programs and data. (To learn more, see Frequently asked questions.)
Can i keep using Windows 7 rc untill June 2010? If not i need to know how to boot from xp aswell.

Note: im not the best at computers lol.

Hi Demotion!

Welcome to SevenForums! I understand your problem. (<----- That sounds weird doesn't it?)

Ok so what you need to do is download EasyBCD from here: Download EasyBCD 1.7.2 - NeoSmart Technologies

And then install it. (I'm not gonna go through those steps because they're straightforward.)

When you've installed open up EasyBCD.You should see a page that has a options at the left and text to the right.

Go ahead and click "Add/Remove Entries".

Under where it says "Manage Existing Entries" It should only have Windows 7.

Where it says add an entry click the Windows Tab.

Next to type choose "NT/2k/XP/2k3"

Next to name just write in Microsoft Windows XP or whatever you prefer to call it.

Then choose the Drive that you have XP installed on and click "Add Entry".

Restart.

You should have two options now.

Oh and by the way, It's true:

First yes the RC is time-bombed for initially the start of march 2010 when it goes into reduced functionality mode where it shuts down every two hours - on or about 3 june 2010 it will cease to operate completely.

as for building a boot menu the software I prefer is EasyBCD

Download EasyBCD 1.7.2 - NeoSmart Technologies

Due to history to multiboot you would need to run this in windows 7 (always the latest release), Check out the tutorials and walkthroughs on the site and you should be able to create the set-up you require
