Hmmm..... there seems to be a post missing here when he realized that he was looking at 2 different screens with about information in them, here are the 2, the one with the date you get from going to start and typing winver and the other is from the about in the welcome screen.

    How did you manage that?

Mr Grim is correct. There are two different views of the about window. One with the date and one without it. The quote I said above about never running out was a joke.

There are plenty out there available from different torrent sites. No I will not post where I got mine, but I am sure it's not any different than 80% of the others people are using.

Mine says good through March -1st -2010

I know of a couple that do not run out at all

Where would you be getting this info? Every copy of Windows 7 will run out, and don't say they're 'CRACKED' versions as that's just asking for trouble.

I wasn't talking about specific illegal stuff, I was just saying I got in trouble at school for it.

And there has to be a way to stop it since it's in the code and there must be a way to remove or modify that code that causes that message that keeps restarting your computer.

And if not, then back to the other idea of backing up my program files and registry and stuff from win 7, then doing a fresh vista install and replacing the 7 registry backup over the vista registry and moving back all my program files and stuff. Could that work? Or is 7's registry too different?

And what's this about a RC win 7? Will that be free to download like this beta was?

Crap, should have noticed this earlier >_<
In short you are gonna have to get your wallet out at some point unless you enter the darkside....

Do you by any chance have at least the xp key though? That was used with the xp install before you installed 7? If so just download an xp disk and use your own key.

From 7057 the expiration date is 2010.

i have windows home basic activated on my computer and i have windows 7 ultimate 64 bit on dual boot. I think i will wait for August 1 to upgrade my Vista home basic to windows 7 ultimate 64 bit, the windows vista basic is really a miss match for my computer, which has Pentium core 2 quad 2.33 GHz (Q8500) processor and 8 GB DDR2 800 MHz Transcend RAM mounted. I realy love the windows 7 task bar and the aeo features. I realy dont care if my hardware is 64 bit cause windows 7 is running perfectly, i have got all the required drivers from automatic update
