ok, i think i was along the right lines in the beggining about browsers then.

not sure why the google calendar link wont open , in firefox i was able to drag the calendar link off the browser and place the shortcut on the desktop and drag and pin that to the taskbar.
this is beside the point though as op needs it to open in his browser, cant say i know why its moved or wont open,

firstly what browser are you using.

Actually, my Google calendar icon was, indeed, pinned to the taskbar. However, the easiest solution is to unpin it, and create a shortcut. That always works fine. Thanks for all the input.

I see you just posted and fixed the problem, but i'll post this anyway...

You can get to the Properties of a Taskbar pinned icon and make changes if there is a problem.
In my screen prints example, I am looking at the properties for Process Explorer, pinned to my taskbar.
Right click on the Pinned Icon
Right click on the "Item name" (Process Explorer for me)
Left click on Properties

That opens my 2nd screen print, where I can make changes.

I sometimes have problems when I update a program version, if the update moved the program to a new location.
For me, it's easier to unpin the taskbar icon and create a new pinned item with the new "info".
Sometimes I'm curious, and want to know why the thing broke, and how i can fixit manually...

Yep but it seemed like the easiest method to me RR I am glad I don't have issues like this seems to e a lot of messing around but if that what a person wants well may as well have it

I just got to thinking what is the difference between having it on the taskbar or the favourites bar anyway - unless it is something my simple mind doesn't get

I can access my calendar page from my home page whether I'm signed in or not.

So it's a bit like a diary then? if so that makes sense I being the almost total nit wit was thinking it was just a calendar with a few days ticked off on it

I prefer WLM Calendar, used as reminders.
