    Windows explorer switches prevent starting

    Here is an odd problem.

I was using windows explorer switches

    /n/e, /c:\

to make explorer start in classic view showing the root. In my named account, these switches prevent explorer from starting. take them away, and it starts fine.

go to administrator account, and the switches work fine.

come back to named account, and they wont work.

    ideas?

    Does not work

C'mon. While some might interpret this response as rude, my guess is that you didnt read the post in its entirety. Its not intended to be rude, but I have to say that answers like this one just confuse the picture.

It is the placing of any text (switches) in the command line that causes the failure. If the command line has any switches, NOTHING happens. If the command line is devoid of switches, then Win Explorer opens into Libraries, the default in Win 7.

The other accounts on this laptop work correctly.

What registry keys are involved in command line switch processing?

I read your post and offered something until someone else came along. You did not say any text causes the problem, only that the switches you listed did. Good luck getting the help you want. A Guy
