How do I know if my computer turned itself on or if a person did?

Thanks for this, but where should I put the WakeInfo.bat file? On my desktop, In System32, WHERE?

Also can I put the WakeInfo.bat in my start menu, so when windows starts it'll run it for me?

Norton thinks its a virus, malicious software -_-

Hadn't tried to download it, but I get the same virus notification from my AV. So, avoid the site and I will check into it later on when I have time.

Sorry to ask, but why do you need to put your computer in hibernation mode anyway?
Why not just turn it off.
Then you can check the event log the next time you turn it on and if there is any
sign of the computer being used while you were not there, it will show up.
Then you can be absolutely sure that the computer was started by someone (ie your brother.)
Is it absolutely necessary to put it into hibernation.....
Or am I being too simple?

Good question, Tantalum, But when I leave my computer for an extended amount of time, I don't like to leave it on because of obvious reasons: Wasting power and I just don't want my computer to be on every waking second.

and when I do leave my computer I have lots of programs and documents open .etc, That why I like to hibernate it.
