To check the cause of the last system wake from Sleep / Hibernation simply enter "powercfg -lastwake" into an Admin Command Prompt.
you could also add a batch file containing "powercfg -lastwake >> C:\Wakeup.Log", which would create a file on the root of the C: drive with the details in each instance, to your start up folder.

As for preventing access - Windows has security for a reason, give your brother his own ID on the system and use password login. If you create his user as a standard user he will not be able to access anything vital on your system without your password, and you could also use the built in Parental Controls to monitor and limit program access
I'm not the smartest computer person, but I know my way around, If you could link me a tutorial or something that would be great!

The admin or Elevated Command Prompt is explained Here ... Elevated Command Prompt just enter or copy paste the powercfg -lastwake command into the admin window

A batch file is a simple text file with the extension .bat, that contains a list of "dos" commands which are run in order, to create the one I suggested open notepad, Type or copy "powercfg -lastwake >> C:\Wakeup.Log" and save the file as something like wakeinfo.bat, This will add an entry into the file C:\Wakeup.Log every time you run it (right click and run as administrator), the last entry in this file will show if the system was woken by the system, if there is not a system event shown the entry shows the system was last started normally ie. by a user.

Here's an example file WakeInfo.bat, you're welcome to use

an example of the output is shown in this tutorial Power Options and Sleep Mode Problems.

    If you are still interested in a free keylogger, check the following site;

Download free keylogger - Actual Keylogger

I don't use the program, so this is not a recommendation based on personal experience.

Thanks for this, but where should I put the WakeInfo.bat file? On my desktop, In System32, WHERE?

Also can I put the WakeInfo.bat in my start menu, so when windows starts it'll run it for me?

    Thanks

Hadn't tried to download it, but I get the same virus notification from my AV. So, avoid the site and I will check into it later on when I have time.

Sorry to ask, but why do you need to put your computer in hibernation mode anyway?
Why not just turn it off.
Then you can check the event log the next time you turn it on and if there is any
sign of the computer being used while you were not there, it will show up.
Then you can be absolutely sure that the computer was started by someone (ie your brother.)
Is it absolutely necessary to put it into hibernation.....
Or am I being too simple?

Good question, Tantalum, But when I leave my computer for an extended amount of time, I don't like to leave it on because of obvious reasons: Wasting power and I just don't want my computer to be on every waking second.

and when I do leave my computer I have lots of programs and documents open .etc, That why I like to hibernate it.

What I do so ppl can't do anything is set up only 1 profile and require login, also when idle for a certain time have it autolock. Also when you get off you could just ctrl+alt+delete and select lock this computer and it will bring you to the login screen saying you're logged on but need a password to get back on. Just little tips, I would just lock the screen when i would leave the area.
