From your link what I assumed is, for the Disk image burner to open, a blank disk and an ISO or IMG file must be present. If such a file is not present the image burner option is not offered. That' the way it looks to me. Right clicking on any other type of file does not open that option. Am I correct?

Melita,

See if this may help with the burn files to disc. The example screenshots help show it's usage as well.

This helpful Shawn but I am OK with this. Both CD and DVD burning are enabled and I have been doing it for sometime. It is the illusive Image Burner that is annoyingly inaccessible.

Ah, ok. If you don't have the Burn disc image option when you right click on an .iso or .img file, then download and merge the .reg file for the listed .iso or .img options in the tutorial below to restore their default associations.

This should restore the Burn disc image context menu item for those file types.

the built in windows iso burner is found here

C:\windows\system32\isoburn.exe

When you right click on an iso file it will give you the option to burn it to disk.

Or if you drop in a blank disc.

Thank you very much Shawn. You have given me a bonus here, this list of file extensions. Many a time I have struggled to open a file, not knowing what programme to open it with.

I don't have an ISO file to check this. Once I get hold of one I can see whether the disk burner option will appear and download the reg file if necessary.

Best regards,
