    Side by side error stopping all 32bit apps and many window's fucctions


    Hi all,
    I wounder if some can help me please
    I have an error message coming up on all 32bit application that says “the application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect.”
    I have done a lot of searching and found that most say I have to uninstall Visual C++ then load an update from Microsoft. That’s great but the side by side error won’t let me uninstall or install anything
    I ran sfc /scannow and it found some error and did not fix others The log is below
    I hope someone can help

    Did you try to boot into safe mode? Or even better a system restore?

    Thanks benjy for your help so far, Can't quite work out what to do next with the event data but here is the result

    Activation context generation failed for "System Default Context". Dependent Assembly Microsoft.Windows.IsolationAutomation,language="*",processorArchitecture="x86",publicKeyToken="6595b 64144ccf1df",type="win32",version="1.0.0.0" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis.

    You seem to have a corrupted file system. Do you have the windows disc? If so please follow this tut

    Thanks for your help,I got it fixed . i was luck and did not ave to reload windows. I found a restor point that worked on another drive i had and it fixed the prob. Thanks for your time
