Computer freezing often, kernel power error ID 41

I have had a problem for about a week and a half where my computer will freeze. I will be doing anything (playing WoW, browsing the internet, etc) and my monitor will enter power save mode, whatever sound that was playing will start to skip. At this point the computer is still on but completely unresponsive. Even pressing the power button does nothing, I have to manually unplug it. This can happen 1 to 7 times a day and seems completely random with no warning signs. Checking event viewer this is what I get from the source Kernel-Power with an event ID of 41.

No idea if this means anything, and the only thing I have done is check my computers temps, which are all fine. Thanks for any help and ask me for additional info if you need it.

    Same Problem

Hey, I have literally come here to post this exact problem. Except mine would happen every 5-10 mins :/

I have since been trying some things to see if I could solve this issue, and I think I have found the problem at least.

Well, I have been having this problem since buying a new monitor and keyboard, and when installing these, I had also installed windows mouse and keyboard center, which my wireless mouse was using. Then I noticed that my PC only seems to freeze when using the scroller on my mouse, whether it is to scroll the window up and down, or opening a new tab in my browser. So, I decided to disconnect all USB devices from my PC and use a cheap wired keyboard and mouse (and also uninstall mouse and keyboard center) and it hasn't froze since.

I also thought it may have been YouTube, or at least Flash, as it always seems to happen when I am listening to music on YouTube, but then I uninstalled Flash and it did it again, so I don't think it could have been that.

Let me know if any of this helps, I will do more troubleshooting in the meantime :)

I have been using the same setup for a few months now, and this is a fairly new problem, and it crashes even if I have nothing open, but thanks for the help

Ahh, so do you have Microsoft Keyboard And Mouse Center installed? As mine was installed in a windows update, and I'm starting to think that it is the issue, for me at least
