you always have the option for new installation
you always have the option for new installation
This is why you DO NOT compress the system drive. Not only does it cause problems like this, but it also will reduce performance if you compress system files or files accessed often.
Sorry I missed this the first time around tho it has been answered since then.
Boot critical files are compressed. In order to fix this, boot the Windows 7 Repair CD or install DVD, select "Repair My Computer," on System Recovery Options click "Load Drivers," then OK Now when the mini-explorer opens up, click on Computer, then rightclick on Windows 7 drive, choose Properties, untick the box for compressing files on the drive. Click Apply, back out of the Repair console, Windows 7 should start on Reboot.

I had the same problem W7 didn't say anything baout this ! well Lucky me I have Hiren's boot CD but Windows should have some way of fixing this even without installation DVD is just a compression not some architecture problem I think is simple.
So I had to get non microsoft help to fix a microsoft error.
BootMGR is Compressed.
If the above doesn't solve the problem then boot into Repair,
but after selecting the Windows 7-installation, press "Load Drivers" (Instead of "Next")
and use the mini Windows Explorer to right-click the boot-drive, select Properties,
deselect "Compress this Drive" and choose Apply to sub-folders and files.

Assuming that you have set the correct device boot option in bios:
When booting, the option to enter 'BIOS' or 'Setup' should appear. Does a 'Press F12 (or other F key) to Enter Boot Menu' or similar option appear? If so, press that F-key and a menu should appear, allowing you to choose the boot device.
