    "Bootmgr is compressed" - problem

Hi! Yesterday i tried or let's say accidentally compressed my drive C and i stopped it like 5 % then turned off my pc coz going to sleep...

At morning I turned on my pc bom.,.. Bootmr is compressed... i get my laptop search this problem.... i read 100's of threads on google and i need to boot up from my installation disc..

I configured the bios settings and make cd-rom to be the first priority...restarted then my dvd starts to turn fast and " press any key to boot cd" did not come up.... i tried this over 50 times.... "Bootmgr is compressed" is still coming up...

I am really stacked there... i loaded my dvd to my laptop and there is no problem...

    i have windows 7 ultimate...

sigh... don't know what to do...
    This is Lockex,
    Thanks...and pls reply

do you have a backup to restore from? if not do you have a win 7 dvd to do a repair install?

Is there anything on the drive that you really need?

Do you have booting frrom dvd enabled in bios? to boot from bios you hit a key (usually F2) when booting. go into bios and make sure that the dvd is bootable.

Then if the dvd is bootable when you re-boot it should give you the correct screen

    hope this helps

yeah, it actually reads the dvd when u press f2 but "Bootmgr is compressed" still comes out... The "press any key to boot from cd" must be the one out..

    Thanks though...

what does the screen say when you hit F2 ? You installed from this dvd so the boot manager cant be loaded from there I suspect you are still booting from the c: drive

Did you manage to get into bios to look at the settings?
