    Computer does not load at "Starting Windows", no safe mode or restore

    I have recently been having this problem with my Compaq Presario Cq56 laptop. It used to be working fine for years and this problem suddenly came up a few weeks ago.

    Whenever I turn on my computer it would seem to load but then when it frayed the starting windows screen nothing else happens. The screen remains black with just those words. An indication that windows would load was I the animation of the orbs coming together to make the windows logo appeared.

    I have tried loading in safe mode but it would always hang on Class.pyp or ssomething like that. I tried system restore but it would only show the green loading bar and then the screen would black and nothing happens.

    It seems the only way to have a chance of my computer booting is to do Primary Hard disk tests from the bios or System self diagnosis scans then try to load system restore while the windows 7 disk is in the drive but it's annoying to have to wait up to an hour or more to see if my computer might work.

    I have tried some disk scans from the command prompt as well as a sfc scanthat seed to have fixed the problem but then it would happen again. I have also tried reformatting and reinstalling windows and that would work for a while but then it's back to square one. Of some one could helpe with this it would be very much appreciated.

    Some hardware tests to run.

    Hard drive(s):
    Pick one for your HDD brand or use Seatools.
    7 Free Hard Drive Testing Software Tools
    RAM (memory):
    This will require memtest on a bootable CD or USB stick.
