Can you boot to Safe Mode with Command Prompt ?

While your PC is booting up tap on the F8 key on the Advanced Boot Options menu choose Safe Mode with Command Prompt and press [enter] . Log in and inside the command prompt type in

    Code:
    chkdsk /r

Did you check to see if the hard drive was loose ? Flip the laptop over, remove the battery, then hold down the power button to drain the power.

Flip the laptop over and remove the cover over the hard drive and check that nothings loose.
