HELP! Won't even get to BIOS!

Hey guys,

I started up an old computer today so that I could clean install Windows 7 on it and give to a family member. When I turned the computer on, the screen got stuck displaying the Intel Motherboard screen (logo screen) and did not go any further. So I tried restarting the computer and entering the BIOS by pressing "delete". It gave me another screen that displayed some info about the board and memory, and on the bottom it said that it was trying to enter "SETUP". That's where it stopped. I basically have no clue what to do now since I cant even reach the BIOS, much less select the boot device to install Windows.

If anybody has any information that could help me it would be greatly appreciated. If you need pictures to clear things up about what I am seeing, just let me know. In any case I'll try to have them up when I get some.

Unplug your RAM chips and then reseat them.

After following the above posted, try using just the bare minimum of hardware, I hard drive, 1 stick of ram, and onboard grahpics , and Kyb and mouse.

OK, reseating the memory did not work.

As far as the BIOS config jumper it says that the jumper on pins 1-2 is normal, pins 2-3 is config, and jumper off is recovery. Would you be talking about recovery?

first thing I'd ask What is the machine you are trying to access the BIOS .
Delete is not normal. Model and name appreciated - Gads I do hate to GUESS .

I've had a number of machines where delete is the key to enter the BIOS...either that or F2

Sorry about that, I was looking at the BIOS jumper not the CMOS jumper. I found where the clear CMOS jumper should be but it is just solder, there is no jumper there....

Its an Intel D865PERL, like the previous post, I have also had many computers that boot with delete....
