What's you opinion on the aero interface? I really like it, since vista, but I keep it off most of the time while I'm using my laptop without my charger, aero makes my battery last so little, is aero suppose to drain battery life so fast?, It looks great but in the end, is it worth wasting battery life for eye candy? - My Opinion - | My System Specs |

Depends on how you use it. It does use more power and if you need 4-5hours on a charge there are alot of things you can do to increase battery life.
I use it all the time

ken What ways could help me save battery life? I check power saver on but that doesn't help a lot. Thanks for the help. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell Dimension 9200 OS Windows 7 Ultimate Memory 512mb ram runs GREAT Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce 7300le |

I turn off aero on my portable devices...but not on desktops. Of course, anything which places any load on the GPU is going to cause more power to be consumed and thus shorten battery life.
If you want to tweak your laptop and get more life, head over to the Power Control Center in Windows and create a custom power policy. You can do all sorts of stuff including dimming the display, reducing the speed of the CPU, shutting off things like BlueTooth and PCMCIA cards and such to maximize battery life. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Self-Built in July 2009 OS Windows 7 Ultimate x64 CPU Intel Q9550 2.83Ghz OC'd to 3.40Ghz Motherboard Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R rev. 1.1, F12 BIOS Memory 8GB G.Skill PI DDR2-800, 4-4-4-12 timings Graphics Card EVGA 1280MB Nvidia GeForce GTX570 Sound Card Realtek ALC899A 8 channel onboard audio Monitor(s) Displays 23" Acer x233H Screen Resolution 1920x1080 Keyboard ABS M1 Mechanical Mouse Logitech G9 Laser Mouse PSU Corsair 620HX modular Case Antec P182 Cooling stock Hard Drives Intel X25-M 80GB Gen 2 SSD

I'm afraid you made the wrong choice then. Aero is ran on the GPU, which is hardly used outside of games. While every other non-aero themes are on the CPU taking a slice of the pie. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Alienware Aurora ALX R4 OS Windows 7 x64 (SP1) CPU Intel Core i7-3930K (3.2GHz, Turbo 4GHz) Motherboard Alienware Aurora-R4 x79 Memory 4x Samsung 4GB PC3-12800 DDR3 (16GB 1600MHz) Graphics Card Nvidia Geforce GTX 690 (Stock) Sound Card RealTek Integrated Audio Monitor(s) Displays Dell UltraSharp U3011 Screen Resolution 2560x1600 Other Info Dell Inspiron Mini 10v (Intel Atom N270 1.6 GHz; 1GB; Windows 7 Ultimate) |

For awhile the first thing I did was turn aero off, but I read a post about how it helps with hardware acceleration, so I turned it back on and low and behold, things actually seemed to run better and windows like my movie folder of thumbnails actually rendered faster. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP DV9033CL OS Windows 7 Professional 32 Bit Memory 2 GB Graphics Card nVidia GeForce Go 7600 Sound Card Conexant HD Audio Board Screen Resolution 1440x900 Internet Speed aDSL 1.5Mbps / 256 Kbps What's you opinion on the aero interface? problems?
