I cant delete my D: partition

Hello there i searhed the forum didnt help me,

I cant delete my D: partition, i want to make my C: drive bigger and my D: smaller..

When im in disk managment i try to right click and delete it but its greyed out so it wont let me..

Anyway i read some things on the forum which said maybe you got some boot files on your other drive,
i checked with hidden folders, i used easy bcd, and C: is the active one..

D: is just data and programs..

I think the System Reserved (100MB and without drive letter) partition should be Active, as it usually contains the boot files, not C; as the partition is there. As the system boots from the active partition, it is possible that there might be a boot issue after a restart.

And, why the partition is named as Dont Delete PLS that you are trying to delete?

Most likely because you have your page file on it. Put it back on C:

I named it DONT delete pls, because once i brought it away for repair anyway, keep C: active or system reserved?

What do i need to do?

ps i made C: active i thought that would make a difference to D:

Well to view the page file go to: start - right click computer - properties - advanced system settings - advanced - performance settings - advanced - change

Get the Partition Wizard bootable CD (last one in the list). Burn it in a blank CD or USB flash stick. Boot into it following these instructions.

Now, first, mark System reserved as active. Follow Method 3 of Partition - Mark as Active

Next, Delete D. How to Delete Partition with partition manager? Partition Wizard Help. It will create some unallocated space.

Next, Extend C to the adjacent unallocated space. Extend partition with partition magic software ? MiniTool Partition Wizard.

Hope it will do what you want to do.

Edit: the Extend partition with partition magic software ? MiniTool Partition Wizard. option can extend C without deleting/formatting D, only by taking free space from D.

Unlike Move/Resize Partition which needs an adjacent unallocated space to extend the target partition, Extend Partition feature allows users to extend partition by directly taking free space from other partition or unallocated space on the same disk.

Though how much C can be extended depends on the free space of D.
