My cursor/pointer changes at what seems like random times

I have a cursor/pointer issue that. I have Googled the problem but did not learn anything.

Every once in a while my arrow will change to about 6 small-stacked lines, slightly pointing upwards. When the cursor is "thinking" it looks more like a bunch of Vs upside down. I can still work and use everything fine. It also switches back to my normal arrow after a few minutes. This does not happen often enough for me to notice what may be causing it. I am also using dual monitors and this issue is only on my primary monitor. If I go over to the secondary I have my normal arrow; back to the primary and it is that weird pointer again.

Does anybody know what is causing this? It is really not a big problem since I can still work, just more of a nuisance.

    Thanks,
    CWW

Maybe you should try the sfc /scannow command : SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

See what the results are and post back.

Please post more details to of when this had happened, what you did prior to the issue.

avaya2012 you have had 90 people read your thread.
Many times a thread is not answered because members don't understand the problem or don't have enough information to be able to help.
In my case I have more question than answers.
What mouse and keyboard program do you use?
Are both screen set at the same time to the same user account.
Do you use a 3rd party Personalize program that change the appearance of your system.
I don't think I will be able to help but I will try to guide you to people that in most cases can help.

If benjy's suggestion doesn't help we do have people here that might be able to help. They are very good at such things.

Filling in your specs would help.
