W7 Enterprise Technet - Time limited or not

    Hi all

I see that technet now allows the "Retail" i.e "ordinary" suscriber to download the Enterprise version of W7.

Before I do a 3GB download and spend time installing and trialling this out can anyone tell me if this version is "time limited". I saw that some public trials were limited to 90 days.

Can anyone also tell me if Enterprise still has the Media Center in it.

I want to avoid download, backing up an existing machine and a lot of testing if this product IS time limited.

    Thanks in advance

    cheers

Jimbo.. I would think that if you are getting it through Technet, that it wouldnt be limited... But that leads to the next question... Why would you want to download it to begin with?? .. Unless you need it to deploy Windows 7 to multiple desktops, you aren't going to gain anything over the RTM version available to Technet subscribers...

As zer010 said, that publically available download of the enterprise version is a 90 evaluation copy.

    Hi there
that's just what I want to do testing for - for setting up a system on a server where multiple desktops can be deployed.

The user at logon will be notified to start the installation procedure and then the system should install seamlessly on their desktops with the corporate apps already installed.

Before going down this route I'd like to do a bit of "homework" first to see if it works.

It's easy to design a business process but before implementing I'd certainly like to give it at least a single "functional test". I've got server 2008 as the server for deploying from.

I don't want to prepare for this and then find out we'd have to go through the whole kybosh again in another 90 days - management would be rightfully peeved at this.

    Cheers

New User here..I have a Technet Plus subcription through my workplace. Prior to buying it, I spoke at length with a surprisingly helpful CSR who detailed what you are entitled to. Long and short, with the subscription downloads and keys there are no time limitations(unless its clearly listed as a 30/60/90 day eval period). I just grabbed Enterprise and will be deploying it from a 2008 box as well

If you are simply downloading it from the TechNet public webpage, it is the 90 day trial. If you downloaeed it through your TechNet subscription, then it is the full version. What's the confusion?
