Custom Build. A disk read error occurred.

I have a custom built desktop, the last few months I have been having real bad problems with the start up and the computer just closing everything and shutting down randomly. But at the moment my main problem seems to be "A disc read error has occurred". I have read through many forums and other random sites for a solution. I haven't found one obviously. I re install the OS regularly just to get my PS to work. It is a genuine copy I bought while building. If any more info is needed I can give it. Any help or thoughts would be much appreciated!

Hi Calmrade and welcome to Seven Forums.

When did you start receiving this error? Did you install anything prior to this?

Where is this error appearing? More info on the problem would be really helpful :)

I'd say about 4 months ago give or take. I've only installed FireFox, TeamSpeak 3, Norton AntiVirus and BattleField 3. It appears at the startup almost every time.

I attached two pictures showing problems I also get regularly.

I'd replace the Norton Bloatware with Microsoft Security Essentials, establish a Clean Boot, run the hardware tests, check the logs and the other Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7.
