It will revert it to the default settings that the board came with when it was made. If you have made any changes since then you will need to enter the bios and set them again.

But, that also tells you the motherboard is working as it should. Do you have on board graphics? If so, connect the monitor to on board gramhics and make sure the monitor is set to the type of input it is given (VGA, DVI, HDMI) The monitor should have a menu fort the type signal it receives.
Hi,

I have taken out the ram, hit the power button and got nothing, no beeps or anything else just the same green Led lights up. Will removing the cmos battery help in any way? as this is a startup issue with either the Psu or Mobo.

Be sure to set your ram to the manufacturers frequency, timings and voltage; set your sata controller to the same mode it is in now, set the boot options to CD/DVD first device and the hard drive windows is installed on as second boot device. Save and exit.

Unfortunately, it's sounding like the mobo, to me. You can try removing the CMOS battery though. If still nothing, be sure and check all connections, and see if you have someone with an extra PSU that will let you borrow it for a day. It seems you are right it is either the mobo or PSU, but the green led lights show the board is etting stand by power, but that still does not mean the PSU is putting out sufficient power to start the computer, but, I would think the fans should try to start.
