    Infinite System Repair Loop

    Hello all,

As you can tell from my user name I am not computer savvy so I hope I can explain myself and get resolution for my computer problem. My wife and I went on a 2 week vacation and she unfortunately left her computer on. When we came back I was welcomed by the infinite loop of system repair on her computer.

She owns a HP Pavillion m7790y and it runs on W7 32-bit. She got this computer used from a friend. It came with a copy of W7 repair disk. I tried running system repair but end up back in the infinite loop.

    Please help?

    Dude,

Thank you for the link. I had seen this before and tried unsuccessfully. I got stuck at part #13 section 2. "If any one of them are 0 bytes, then you should stop what you're doing now and seek an alternative method of recovering your system, because Windows cannot function with a 0-byte size registry hive." One of the files did come back "0 bytes".... Not sure what that means

In addition here are all of the steps that can be done for Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start
leading up to rescuiing your files if necessary to get a superior Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7
without the corrupting HP factory bloatware that smothers Win7.

In the future I'd take advantage of Hibernate being perfected in Win7 to set my Power Options to Sleep at around 30 minutes and then Hibernate (shut down after writing all open windows to HD) at 45-90 minutes.

Using another computer, Download the Windows 7 Edition ISO that came with your computer. Will probably end up with having to Clean Install. Post back when the ISO is downloaded and will give further instructions.

[Direct Download Links] Download Genuine Windows 7 RTM with SP1 ISO (32-bit and 64-bit) - Tweaking with Vishal
