Guest account Rights Download coming true

Hi all.
I moved into in a shared house with around 6 people. I let others use my laptop and i have setup guest accounts for them. As a kitchen and living room computer....

Now i see that people are using my pc to download torrents as crazy.
i tought that Guest account blocked this? aren t .exe installer automatically blocked?
Am i misinformed ?

Misinformed. The guest account will block system wide changes to the system. Everything happens in the local account. Running an exe is not blocked otherwise nothing could be ran. An installer is just an executable, there is no distinction. Any bad voodoo that has plagued from guest account can be easily removed by deleting the guest profile.

If you have a router you can install DD-WRT (www.dd-wrt.com | Unleash Your Router) on your router. Then use Access Restrictions to kill any P2P traffic. If not you could try talking to your housemates and letting them know that you are not comfortable with them using your computer in such a manner.
