You cannot change the cluster size when it is occupied with data. Why do you want to change the cluster size?
Resize partition cluster size or change cluster size with free partition magic under Windows 7/XP and Windows Server 2000/2003/2008.
but not with the FREE version. I'll search for a free tool. But why do you want to do that?
de reason i wanna change it, coz it give more privilage to my hd movements, thats wat i believe. .. since we cant change it, then, let it be coz it is pre-default value during os installation, am i right?
oredy done that, all my files are gone!, there is no backup during changin de cluster size, my windows gone too, haiz
straightforward change, not worth trying it.. thought still have backup and return my current OS to normal state..but in vain
my hd also easily get scratches , coz cluster size are too small loaded full of softwares inside..movement are slow too, even with my 8 core amd processor also cant take it fast .. how? how do our chairman developt de OS ar? lols.s.s.s.
The default cluster size in NTFS is 4096 bytes. This was not an arbitrary decision but for some very good reasons. There are advantages in a smaller cluster size as there are for a larger one but for most purposes the default size will be best. But of course if you think you know better than Microsoft designers then go right ahead and change it. And for your situation you might just be right. But I rather doubt it.
