Yeah sandeepP, it's easy to discard or replace it but it's very hard when you had important personal files on it without any copy of them

Hi khoshtipi,

I understand it would frustrating to lose the valuable data especially when you don't have the backup. Check this video below it might be helpful for you:

Hikhostipi,

Not sure if it is going to help, but let us see how your card looks like in Disk Management. Disk Management - Post a Screen Capture Image

(Hide the Action Pane by clicking on Show/Hide Action pane button in the Toolbar, so that we get a full view.)

Hi jumanji;
Here is a snapshot from my disk management when MicroSD card via card reader (that is Removable G) is attached to my machine.

OK. IMO, a No Media message can be seen in two fault conditions.

1. The memory chip/s in your SD card has failed. In that case it is as dead as a dodo. You have to just discard it.

2. It can also occur due to other fault conditions. In this case doing a low level format with HD LLF Tool and then a regular format can bring it back alive. But be aware that you will lose all data. ( I had practically done it yesterday, when my Imation 1GB pen drive turned No media during my experiments on the first sector. For a moment, I thought I had lost the drive. But I did the above procedure and it is back and alive. I keep on torturing my pen drives and so expecting a failure anytime. )

Keeping this in mind, I would suggest as follows:

Download HDD LLF Tool v 2.45( the Windows executable version that does not require installation.) HDDGURU: HDD LLF Low Level Format Tool

It is just a .exe file which you will click on to run.

Remove all other external drives. With your problem SD card plugged in run the tool. If it recognises your SD card, low level format it. ( Be sure to select the correct drive.) If it successfully completes the task, do a regular format. I would recommend SD Formatter. https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_3/

If the tool does not recognise your SD Card, then it falls under 1 above.

In the above procedure, I have assumed that you do not want to recover any data.

If the LLF tool recognises your SD card, there is a fair chance of recovering the data. Abort the LLF tool ( do not do the low level format) and try recovery with PhotoRec. ( It can recover almost all types of files, not necessarily photos and videos.) Guide to using PhotoRec recovery software.

@Dear jumanji:

Thank you very much for your comprehensive comments.

I tested both of those two tools (LLF tool & photoRec tool). Unfortunately neither LLF nor photoRec couldn't recognize my micro SDcard. I'm not going to bother you good guys to think and find solutions to help me, more. The SDcard doesn't matter for me, it's contents was important. Anyway, I should discard it.

Thanks again.

Hi khoshtipi,

I understand it not the card that you are looking for but content on it. Getting a new replacement card would be the only option left.

sd card

I can't access my vids on my card. I have a targus high speed sd/sdhc/mmc/micro sd/t-f card reader writer. It was working 8-10 days ago,but now my computer doesn't recognize the file type. I've even had my computer all cleaned up. Removable disc E comes up instead of my download/view files box.
