Windows 7 Snipping Tool

I have lost the ability to save snips. I can make them but I cannot save them anywhere. I have tried sfc /scannow with no help. Any help with this would be appreciated.

What happens when you click the Save icon? Does it throw an error message?

Actually.......do you have a Pictures folder in your Library location? I seem to recall you must have that in order for Snipping Tool to save. Please check that here:

Mmmm. OK. Lets see if a system file has gone south:

1. Click Start
2. In the search box, type cmd
3. In the list that appears, right-click on cmd.exe and choose Run as administrator
4. In the command window that opens, type sfc /scannow and hit enter.

Report the output from the command window once it finishes.

More detail: SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Finally please confirm you have a My Pictures folder in the following registry entry:
"HKEY_CURRENT-USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders"

Have you checked the Options for the Snipping Tool? Here's a screenshot of my current default options:

It did but it was the wrong location. You see I used a boot disk to do the bootrec /fixmbr etc and when The recovery box opened a popup appeared and it said all of your start problems can be fixed by click here. So I did. It fixed the boot problems but it also wiped out about 80 Gigs of music, all my videos, My documents, my pictures. Well I was quite upset and I thought I got everything back in order as I was able to save to my pictures. It looks like I will have to do the same to My Music.

Thank you so very much! I tried to rep you but it won't take it, I have to spread it around.
