Need Help with OtShot which I installed in Error

    Hello,

I installed OtShot right after an update for Adobe Flash and I thought it was part of it. I actually liked it a lot because it put all my pictures by date. Then I did some research and found that it could cause viruses, malware etc. and I went to Uninstall Programs and deleted it. I also removed something from Program Files.

Now every time I open the computer I get an error "Unable to Load Skin", I close it and then get another message "Do you want to import your contacts from Outlook?"

I went back to check and found that I still have a program file for OtShot, when I right click to delete it, it says "the action cannot be completed because the file is open in OtShot".

I looked in the Processes (Ctr, Alt, Delete) and it is there, but I am afraid to delete it because it shows as an installation date 10/18/12, which means that it came with the HP computer. I am afraid to mess up something else in the system because I had not problems with any error message before the download of today.

I also did a scan with Norton 360 and removed temporary files and cookies.

Can someone give me some advise?

Have you tried using Revo Uninstaller Pro - Uninstall Software, Remove Programs easily, Forced Uninstall, Leftovers Uninstaller?

Opt for Advanced Mode to completely remove all the registry keys for the program.

    Blue Robot,

Thank you for the prompt response. Before I go into that program, should I delete the OtShot from the list of programs under the Process Tab that shows in the Ctr. Alt, Dlt? My concern is that something was there before my download of today. Is OtShot needed as part of other programs to run videos or see pictures?

I went through Windows help to unistall a program but it was not showing OtShot anywhere.

    Thank you, AG

Here's some additional help with the program if needed, it will help uninstall the program even though it's not listed:

OTShot is not needed to view pictures or videos at all, Windows already has these features built-in.

You could delete OTShot from the Processes list, it will make sure it's not running in the background.

Thank you for your reply. Right after I posted the last question, I went back and checked further and found a recommendation to uncheck OtShot in the System Configuration. It worked!!! I do not get the messages anymore. Thank you for your advice, I will keep the link for the future
