    GRUB loader error

    Hi,
I've installed multiple Operating System in my PC (Windows 7 and Linux Ubuntu). But, accidentally I've deleted Linux Ubuntu, when partitioning some space for my local drive, after i restarted my machine it shows a GRUB loader error (ie. Linux OS is formatted or removed accidentally). I'm unable to boot into windows anymore, is there any solution rather than creating a fresh Windows OS.

I fixed that problem by booting into Windows 7 (existing OS) by creating a new fresh Windows 7 from the available partition. But the bottom line is that I shouldn't loss any data or partition in my machine. I desperately need a solution for that.

You can fix it by rewriting nt6 mbr code.

Startup repair from 7 dvd/repair cd should do it.

I haven't tried this myself but it looks promising.

I've always just booted from the live dvd and used the terminal to repair the mbr for windows.

The MBR (Master Boot Record) has the GRUB boot code. You can replace it by entering win7 Recovery Environment). Then do one of these:
    Code:
    • bootrec/fixmbr (command prompt)
    • startup repair
    • bootsect/nt60 C: /force /mbr
But you already did it... because you're in win7 now! What's the problem?

It depends what you did when repartitioning and since.

You could run a partition recovery tool.

Aomei is pretty good at that. It is part of Partition Assistant Free version available:

Free partition manager download for managing your PCs and Servers.

If you can recover your ext4 partition(s), you will need to reinit the bootloader.

I use boot repair, which I have included in my custom version of ubuntu13.04 x64
