Windows 7 not able to search document for keywords

A friend of mine recently upgraded from XP to 7 and he tells me h can no longer use the search function to search for specific words in a document file because Windows 7 isn't recognising .html files as documents like it did in XP.

Is there a way to make it recognise?

Hi Xirix, welcome to the Seven Forums.

    Searching for content might help:
    Code:
    content:KEYWORD
To limit search only to .htm and .html files:
    Code:
    ext:htm content:KEYWORD
(ext:htm searches files with extension starting with htm, so both .htm and .html file are found.)

I saved this page as HTML file and searched for keyword DOCUMENT. No issues in finding it. Screenshot from Windows 8, search functions the same way in Windows 7:
