Computers takes forever to Shut Down & Sleep

Well, at this point I don't know what to think. My computer was taking forever to shut down and go to sleep. I thought it was maybe Windows. I did a clean install this morning, and to my avail nothing changed. I did notice that when I don't have any programs running, it goes to sleep/shuts down instantly.

I don't remember it always being like this. I could be playing a game, have chrome open, skype, and a few other apps and it would shut down or go to sleep instantly. But now, my screen turns black, and my pc runs for about 30-40 seconds before the fans, and pc finally shuts down or go to sleep. I notice it hangs especially when I have chrome open. Chrome open with only 2 tabs open, and it takes 30-40 seconds to shut down or enter sleep.

My computer specs are currently up to date as well in my profile.

    Any thoughts on this?

That also happened to me. I clicked the Shutdown button and a window appear (This window looks has a "Force Restart" option). I wait for it to load and kill the process. But unfortunately, after 15 minutes, nothing happens . I tried cancelling it and checking the task manager for it. I didn't saw any unusual. This time, I clicked "Force Restart". Bad idea! I waited for almost 1 hour and the computer says: "Windows is Shutting down". but actually, it didn't shut down. Any resolutions for these?

Have you thought about closing all Internet tabs before shutting down?

WIn7 should never hang or bog with a perfect install on sound, adequate hardware.

Work through the Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7 starting with a Clean Boot, AV scan, checking the logs and system resources, testing hardware - especially with that much RAM.

If that doesn't help then consider following these same steps to get a perfect Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7

-Apply DE-fragmentation and delete all temporary files from your PC.
    - Disinfect your system using some reliable antivirus program.
    - Uninstall unnecessary programs (Games, crapware, toolbars, etc.)
    - Click Start> |Run| Type msconfig > Enter > Start Up. Uncheck the boxes for the programs that you think you may not use often.

Hopefully you will get better results.......
