Check disk failing, disk read errors, blue screen, computer going slow

I havent burned anything to CD, I used rufus to make a bootable flash drive and used that. I also ran a test using one of western digital's programs just from an .exe on my desktop.

I've already attempted restarting the pc, press f8, and doing startup repairs - but they failed.

Should I try booting from the windows 7 cd then and seeing if there are any repair options there?

edit: running a surface test on partition wizard will tell how that goes

The HD looks OK if Data Lifeguard confirms it.

Run Disk Check and Startup Repair from DVD System Recovery Options Command Line.

There may be System Files corrupted which interfere with these being run from Win7. So run SFC /SCANNOW Command or if necessary SFC /SCANNOW Run in Command Prompt at Boot.

Then work through the rest of the steps.

One of my computers had the same symptoms as yours. The day after it started happening, the hard drive failed and I had to pay nearly $1000 to get my data off. Based on my experience, I would advise you back up all of your important data asap.
