    File - Folder transfer

    Hi folks.
This is my first visit-post in the Forum so please bear with me.
I recently set up a new machine (Win7 ultimate+Office 2010+Firefox) and I need some help.
    a. how to I copy or transfer a folder I had created (in Outlook) where I kept some important e-mails?
    b. how to I copy or transfer saved usernames & passwords from Firefox?
    (old machine WinXP Pro+Office 2010+Firefox).
    Regards.

    Welcome to the Seven Forums.

    a. get Outlook working on the new computer
...copy the entire PST file from old to new computer
...open Outlook and open the old PST file
...copy the folder of interest (& contacts ?) to the new PST
(right click > copy just like Windows Explorer)
    ...close the old PST file
    ...close Outlook
    ...delete old PST

The reason for doing it this way is you get a new/clean PST file.

Let me know if you need more details on any step.

    b. I've seen add-ons that claim they can do this. I've not used them, so I hesitate to suggest one. Let's let others field that question.

Basically you can just copy your profile folder to your new machine and then use the Firefox Profile Manager to integrate it.

Remember to create a backup before you start.

Have a look at these links:

Some of the info in this tutorial may help you.
