Just set your screensaver to none and have your monitor set to turn off in 10 minutes, there`s no need for a screensaver. Just puts stress on the vid card and the cpu.

Are you saying my answer is not useful ?

There is no reason to use a screensaver, what are you gonna do stare at it ?

What I use it for is not the issue. If you cannot post a solution please do not reply further.

MourningStar, are you using a windows screensaver or a third party one? Seems it could be a power config or sleep state setting. Most of the time the problem is the opposite where the monitor will not wake up. Also make sure your video drivers current.
