On the back of the computer where the power cord plugs in, you'll find a toggle switch with a 0 and - symbol that's a additional power switch just like your power strip has. Switch it and see!

plug your CRT monitor into the laptop and see if it works, if so then the issue is with the computer and not the monitor.

Take a look at these screen shots... When you see a display from the monitor , that's actually the laptop. There is no display when the vga is plugged in the tower.

Did you reinstall the video card yet, blowing out the slot and dust off the card, check any cables and connections.

As a side note, nothing will fry a laptop faster that blocking its air vent on a bed.

The Laptop is fine, begging to think this is more of a tower issue linnemeyerhere. Maybe one more clean up will help.

I wouldn't have mentioned that you cannot place a laptop on a bed if I thought it was OK. We offer Best and not Worst practices here, and BTW a hairdryer is not one of them.

I asked you if you reinstalled the video card yet? If you don't want my help just say so.

I didn't use a hair dryer , I used compressed gas, and how would I install a video card when my tower won't run. With all due respect , linnemeyerhere is helping me, one helper is good enough. Thanks though!

I have researched and it could be a ram issue because the same exact thing is happening to meas this person

That screw that came out can be re-threaded back into it's location and you can use light snugging with a small adjustable wrench.
