Hide Windows Action Centre icon in System Tray when no problems?

How can I do this? When I rightclick the taskbar and choose notification area > customise, I have the "always show all icons and notifications on the taskbar" ticked (I much prefer this) but this stops be being able to choose "Only show notifications" for Action Centre (yet I can for other programs). How can I fix this? Thanks

Windows Update icon no longer in system tray
Yesterday I installed about 18 updates. Also hid a few. Now the Windows Update icon is not appearing in my system tray even though there are still updates to install (and my MSE definitions updates definitely are new today). Nothing changed on my system. I even unhid the updates I hid but still...

Windows 7 Icon Problems +Action Center
I just upgraded to Windows 7 (not a clean install) and I noticed a couple of problems that I'm hoping someone could shed some light on. First of all, all of the default icons in Libraries are just plain folders, with the exception of the icon that has a blue picture in front of a document (the...

The old 'i'll hide your tray icon' ploy
Anyone else noted that the tray icons come and go, no matter how you define them in the Customize panel? Mostly when restoring a window and then minimizing it to tray again. A Show Icon and notifications becomes a Only notifications again.
