Go ahead and try to Start Win7. If it won't start then work though Troubleshooting Windows 7 Failure to Start.

If it starts run SFC /SCANNOW Command and check it over with the other Troubleshooting Steps for Windows 7

gregrocker: I am now making the Windows Defender offline stick to scan system. Does the fact that I scanned the HDD of the problem PC, in a working PC with Malwarebytes and cleaned it matter? It mentions that in one of the steps.

Malwarebytes is good but I'd get the second opinion. There are also no system files running during a booted AV scan.

Did you run MBAM again to confirm? Have you checked System files after disinfecting earlier?

gregrocker: I didnt run mbam again to confirm, probably because I found only 1 infection, but I should have.. Ill go with the second opinion (Windows Defender). should be current.

Do I want System files running during AV scan?

How do I check the system files afterward?

gregrocker: the Windows Defender scan finished and said my PC is protected and up to date. Although I did get an error during removal, something about the file size exceeding the limit. So next Ill run the SFC\SCANNOW Command from the Recovery CMD... Ill report back with details.
